Antique Persian Tabriz Farahan Design circa 1900

About the Item

This rug is hand woven in the town of Tabriz, northwest Persia. Tabriz rugs are double-wefted woven on a cotton foundation, with Turkish knots. Tabriz medallion rugs often resemble those of Kerman and Kashan but they are easily distinguished by their use of Turkish knots. Measure: 5’6” x 4’3” This antique Tabriz with rust red field, light, medium and dark blue and ivory is a superb example of a well drawn classic Persian rug.
