About the Item

A very rare church bench designed by Dom Hans van der Laan for the Paulus Church in Dongen, the Netherlands. Manufactured in 1967. Designed in Bossche School style, as was the entire church. This bench was part of a beautiful piece of design history. The church is no longer in use (as a church) and so a small amount of benches became available. This is a unique opportunity to obtain a fantastic piece of Dutch modernism! Made of high quality wood with galvanized base. It remains in very good original condition, with minor wear consistent with age and use, preserving a beautiful patina.
