The high quality and well articulated carving suggest that they are NY made and can be attributed to or were influenced by the workshop of Charles Baudouine. Charles Baudouine (June 1, 1808 – January 13, 1895 was an American cabinetmaker and interior decorator, and was the patriarch of a major family in New York society in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Born in New York of Huguenot ancestry, Baudouine was first listed as a cabinetmaker in the New York City Directory of 1829-30, working at 508 Pearl Street.
