About the Item

Revamp the look of your dining room with this hard to find a set of eight modernist chairs designed by Edmund Karpinski for Drexel Heritage Furniture's "Collage" Collection, circa 1960s. These are not your everyday dining chairs. Made of solid walnut wood featuring highly detailed dramatic lattice design on the back with a slight concave shape to ensure exceptional comfort. A gently convex seat reupholstered in a bouclé fabric provides an eye pleasing contrast of textures and colors. The frame is executed entirely in a special walnut satin to give that perfect finishing touch to your dining room. The chairs are in mint restored condition. Each chair embodies timeless details that will work well in a variety of dining room arrangements and be enjoyed for generations. Edmund Karpinski was an artist and graduating from Kendall School of Art and Design with a degree in Furniture Design. He followed the furniture industry to High Point, N.C. where he created designs for major furniture companies. His signature piece is a Grandfather Clock which he designed for The Herschede Clock Company. The uniqueness of its design led it to be called "The Clock" in the Grandfather Clock industry.
