Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that these are vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. They are all in nice condition and have been Danish oiled. Now THIS is a Sweet SIXTEEN!!! We have 16 of these lovely Variations Collection dining chairs by Grand Rapids Chair Company that we are selling separately to offer to you! They are comprised of marvelous mahogany toned wood frames with straight, square tapered legs, a full stretcher under the seat, and the back legs flare slightly outward. They are wearing their original beautiful textured fabric in striped colors of green, gold, blue, rust, and beige on the seats and backs and it is in stunning condition! These chairs are comfortable, solid, sturdy, and oh-so-full-of-style! They are Modern but they also teeter between Traditional and Art Deco styles, and they will look incredible surrounding your kitchen, dining, or office conference table! History:
Lawrence “Larry” Peabody (1924-2002) was an architect, interior designer and furniture designer. As an American born in Haverhill, Massachusetts, his distinctive design were often influenced by his Scandinavian roots. Lawrence studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, Denmark and at the Rhode Island School of Design. His early career with Selig Mfg. Co. was prolific and helped put both himself and Selig on the map for modern furniture. He then started Lawrence Peabody & Associates in 1955, a design firm in Boston which included a vast client list (Sears, Roebuck & Co., Kohler, Regal Rugs, Boyd Lighting, Chapman Lamps, and Richardson Brothers).
