About the Item

Chaise Longue by Ico Parisi, manufactured by Ariberto Colombo - Italy, 1950s Rare and sculptural, this chaise longue designed by Ico Parisi and made by Ariberto Colombo in the 1950s represents one of the most significant examples of postwar Italian organic design. The wooden structure, with fluid and dynamic lines, reveals a design tension typical of Parisi: a perfect balance between architectural rigor and sensuality of form. The seat, elegant and enveloping, seems to be born from a single plastic gesture, blending comfort and aesthetic research with a constructive mastery that harks back to Lombard craftsmanship of excellence. The original fabric upholstery retains the patina of time, with some visible stains suggesting light cleaning or restoration, with full respect for the authenticity of the piece. A similar specimen was auctioned at Phillips in London, achieving a very significant hammer price, confirming the growing international interest in the work of Ico Parisi and the production of Ariberto Colombo.
