About the Item

This exquisite 1960s sectional sofa, designed by Adrian Pearsall for Craft Associates, exemplifies mid-century modern modularity and sculptural sophistication. Comprising two independent sofas—a three-seater and a two-seater with an integrated slate table—this sectional offers versatile configurations: arranged in an L-shape, aligned as one expansive form, or separated for individual use. The modular design even allows for easy conversion into a cozy bed for overnight guests. The sofas feature a low-profile linear silhouette with thick, channel-tufted cushions upholstered in a luxurious linen-toned fabric, newly applied and soft to the touch. The fabric’s warm, nubby texture beautifully contrasts with the rich patina of old-growth walnut framing, black leather strap accents, and newly fabricated black plinth bases restored to Pearsall’s original specifications. The integrated slate tabletop serves both functional and sculptural roles; lightweight yet substantial, it can be lifted for transport or repositioned without disrupting the design’s integrity. Pearsall’s visionary use of dual materials—warm walnut, dark leather, and sleek slate—creates a tactile and architectural tension that elevates the sectional from furniture to art. The linear, low-back design is ideal for modern interiors, including compact urban apartments, while maintaining the bold, inviting presence Pearsall is known for. Dimensions: Three-seater section: 73” L x 33.25” D x 27.5” H (Seat Height: 15”) Two-seater with slate section: 87” L x 33.25” D x 27.5” H (Seat Height: 15”) L-shaped configuration (combined): 108 3/8” L Condition: The sectional has been meticulously restored by FMV’s expert team. Walnut frames have been refinished to highlight their warm reddish patina, plinth bases were recreated and finished to original specifications, and the upholstery is fresh, clean, and ready for daily use. Adrian Pearsall, an architect turned furniture designer, is celebrated for bold, sculptural, and inviting designs. This sectional embodies his ability to merge modular functionality with expressive materials, resulting in a piece that is both functional and iconic. Perfect for collectors or interiors seeking a statement centerpiece, it balances comfort, style, and architectural clarity with effortless elegance. A rare opportunity to acquire a fully restored Pearsall sectional with timeless mid-century modern appeal and versatile modular design.

7-Piece John Wisner for Ficks Reed Far Horizons Rattan Modular Sofa Group
By John Wisner, Ficks Reed, John and Elinor McGuire
Located in Chattanooga, TN
This elegant modular sectional by John Wisner for Ficks Reed comes from the iconic Far Horizons collection, first introduced in 1954. Poised at the intersection of Eastern sensibility and mid-century modernity, the design blends tropical-inspired rattan craftsmanship with clean modern form, resulting in a versatile sectional that’s both sculptural and relaxed. The sofa is composed of four modular rattan segments—three seating units and one integrated end table. This flexibility allows you to configure it as a linear lounge, an L-shaped sectional, or separate chairs paired with a standalone table—the perfect match for dynamic living environments. Constructed in a rich walnut-toned rattan that nearly suggests ebonized depth, each module features refined details: squared backs in pagoda style, campaign-style brass or aluminum accent caps, and secure bamboo-tied joinery. The rattan framework supports plush cushions, making the piece comfortable and visually engaging. Provenance & Appeal Designed by John Wisner—whose work for Ficks Reed remains a touchstone of mid-century tropical modern design—this suite is rare in its modular completeness and consistently rich tone. Its craftsmanship reflects quality and thoughtful design, while its modularity echoes the era’s embrace of flexible, informal living. Ideal for interiors that favor open layouts, eclectic beach-modern themes, or thoughtfully curated vintage setups, this sectional provides both aesthetic beauty and functional adaptability. It's modular, iconic, and rare—a timeless addition for collectors and modern interiors alike. A tasteful fusion of modern, Eastern and boho-chic style. Luxurious bamboo living room set by John B. Wisner for Ficks Reed. Wisner’s “Far Horizons” collection was first introduced in 1954 and remains a desirable, timeless classic. Inspired by the tropical lands of the the East, these modular bamboo lounge chairs with end table are featured in the hard-to-find dark walnut tone. The color is so deep that it almost appears ebonized. Curved and straight lines of rattan intersect to create this trademark pagoda style. The original straps have been replaced with all new supports. Professionally reupholstered with new, textured tweed fabric. The woven threads are a calming blend of teal, green and yellow tones. Tastefully tailored with button tufting and boxed stitched cushions. Along with new foam cushions, our restoration team spent countless hours on the revitalizing the bamboo on all 7 pieces. We maintained the original tone and mitigated nearly every flaw in the finish. Not to be overlooked, the square coffee / end tables offer plenty of function along with the form. The the light-tan tabletops, with a very subtle parchment pattern, not only look like new, but they're practically indestructible. Ideal for hosting parties, these end tables can combine to make one large coffee table...

Tulip Group Sofa in Rosewood by K M Wilkins for G-Plan of England
By Percival Lafer, Charles and Ray Eames, Thonet, G Plan Furniture
Located in Chattanooga, TN
his extraordinary three-seater G-Plan sofa, conceived by K.M. Wilkins for the celebrated “Tulip Group,” is a rare rosewood rendition of an otherwise teak-centric line—and its presence is nothing short of enchanting. Originally purchased new in Glasgow, Scotland in 1970 by its only owners, it has remained in immaculate condition, carrying with it the quiet confidence of provenance and preservation. The design radiates sculptural grace. Gently molded rosewood panels unfurl like a blossoming tulip, their curves echoing natural form and mid-century modern lyricism. Against the sumptuous rosewood’s amber-red glow, the chrome Magnum Orbit casters shine like modern accents, marrying warmth with utility. Luxuriously soft velvet envelops the frame—an elusive tone hovering between olive-green and taupe-brown—that shifts subtly with light and angle, offering a tactile interplay as captivating as the design’s silhouette. Thoughtful restoration has ensured that elegance is matched by durability. The original webbing had troughed with age, so the sofa was completely disassembled. New industrial-grade 3-inch elastic strapping was installed, preserving the original foam while enhancing comfort for decades to come. Each rosewood panel and chrome detail was cleaned and polished, bringing renewed clarity—while a discreet wood crack on the left rosewood panel was expertly stabilized. Beyond its sculptural and tactile appeal, this sofa is woven into the narrative of British mid-century modern design. The “Tulip Group” represents K.M. Wilkins’ dedication to organic forms and domestic sculpture, and this rosewood example is an exceptionally rare embodiment of that philosophy. This piece is not just furniture—it is a collector’s statement, a living relic of design history, and a tactile centerpiece intended to be both admired and lived in. Whether in a gallery-quality space or a refined lounge, it asserts character and comfort in equal measure. Matching pair of lounge chairs also available and sold separately (see last pic). This incredible sofa was purchased new in Glasgow, Scotland in 1970. We acquired from the original owners who kept it in pristine condition. Designed by K.M. Wilkins for G-Plan of England, this line is appropriately named the "Tulip Group". Wilkins also designed the the well known Housemaster Chair, often misattributed to Ib Kofod Larsen. The "Tulip" design is demonstrated by the rosewood panels which are molded into curves that mimic a blossoming flower. Offered almost exclusively in teak, this rosewood set is truly a rare find. The rich, amber-red panels are perfectly complimented by the chrome hardware and velvet fabric. The luxuriously soft velvet is in amazing condition. The color is difficult to describe, but in our opinion, it's a cross between olive-green and taupe-brown. Of course the refraction of light on velvet can magnify or minimize the tones and highlights depending on the angle and environment. The sofa hovers on its original Magnum Orbit chrome...

1960’s Adrian Pearsall Sectional Sofa Set with Slate Inset Ends Re-upholstered
By Adrian Pearsall, Craft Associates
Located in Palm Springs, CA
A wonderful sectional sofa by designed by Adrian Pearsall for Craft Associates. This set features slate inset pieces at the corners. We’ve had the set re-upholstered with all new foam. The fabric is done in the same style as the original set which I’ve included in the last photo. We’ve had two extra cushions made to cover the slate pieces, so you can use the end pieces as extra seating. Please see the last photo. The 2 pieces can be configured in an opposing position or with the shorter piece on the other end as you see fit. As it’s pictured it is 144 inches at the wide end and 86 inches at the other side. The depth is 33 inches. The longer piece is 111 inches. The seat height is approximately 17.5 inches. We’ve been fortunate to have sold a few of these over the years and their versatility is great. It’s pictured in our gallery with a rare set of circular Pearsall chairs, a Tom Dixon coffee table and a John Vesey Bench...
