On offer on this occasion is the most spectacular George Smith "Early Victorian Chesterfield" Buttoned Sofa dressed in their breathtaking, peerless top-grade, Hand-Coloured, Heavily-Vintaged Leather in Brown, and benefitting from hand-turned dark-brown hardwood legs with Brass-Castors. As you will no doubt be aware by your interest in this listing, George Smith pieces are the epitome of classic English furniture design, are of peerless quality, and exhibit detailing and execution of an unrivalled standard. In a world of temporary pleasures, George Smith create beautiful furniture built to last a lifetime, and there can be no-finer showcase of their talents than this dreamboat. These piece is in superb, well-used condition and, as well as possessing the most-gorgeous patina acquired over its many years of of faithful service, is entirely free from fault, flaw or damage. However, it is far-from perfect (and, lets be honest, you wouldn't be buying this if you wanted "perfect" anyway) as a couple of the deep-button-tops have lost their hide, and there are a number of light, superficial marks and blemishes to the acres of hide present across this Goliath, but this only serves to add to its air of relaxed-grandeur and effortless-elegance. In truth, it is nothing short of a joy to behold, with presence and character in abundance and, perhaps most-critically, a warm, welcoming embrace like that of an old-friend. Its dimensions are a considerable H-74cm, W-250cm and D-110cm, which provides acres of seating capacity and makes it endlessly practical.
