This is an antique drawing room side cabinet. An English, rosewood and marble bookcase or chiffonier, dating to the Regency period, circa 1820. Beautifully presented cabinet with a delightful appearance Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order Select stocks present fine grain interest throughout Warm caramel hues dazzle beneath the quality green Belgian marble plinth The tactile plinth shows superb vein detail and colour Arranged as a wide upper drawer over a generous cabinet Drawer dressed with circular brass pulls and lock escutcheon — key present Striking linen fold covering to each cabinet door an attractive finish Doors replete with brass oval escutcheons, with an inset lock to the right — second key present Pair of shelves to the interior with a matched shelf height of 31cm (12.25'') Standing upon a continuous plinth foot, with an ebonised finish to the reverse This is a striking antique drawing room side cabinet, with rich colour and the delightful linen fold covers to each door creating a wonderful finish. A treat for any room in a fine home. Solid joints and construction, delivered ready to display. A very fine 19th century rosewood, marquetry and ivory inlay drawing room cabinet, the superstructure with a moulded broken arch scroll pediment above a central bevelled mirror flanked by two bevelled mirrors, the middle section with two marquetry and ivory inlaid panelled doors, flanked by astragal glazed doors over an open undertier raised on fluted square columns, on plinth base. Circa 1880 English This item is in two sections for transport purposes. Artist Biography: The firm Collinson & Lock was founded in the late 19th century by F.G. Collinson and G.J. Lock, both of whom were former employees of Jackson & Graham. The company manufactured furniture for the likes of the Savoy Theatre and the new Law Courts, and a variety of their furniture items were featured at the Paris Exposition Universelle exhibit in 1878.
