Majestic Restored Credenza by Reno Rutili for Johnson Furniture, circa 1960

About the Item

If a piece feels like Tommi Parzinger, but is marked Johnson Furniture, there can be only one answer as to its Designer: Renzo Rutili. Mr. Rutili was a seminal furniture designer of the 20th century who is sometimes overlooked in retrospect. Many of his designs are more sophisticated, cutting edge and downright fabulous than any produced during his era - his work takes a backseat to no one. This Johnson Furniture Company credenza, circa 1960, is a mesmerizing example of this Gentleman's awesome talent. Three (3) stunning 33 inch wide cabinets aligned on a 101 inch base. Exceptionally crafted mahogany case construction with lovely detail. Fabulous solid brass hardware accent the doors. Material selection and execution that is beyond incredible. This Show-stopping piece is intended to anchor an important space. Excellent restored condition. The credenza has been professionally cleaned and meticulously restored and re-lacquered in Heavy Cream. All hardware has been professionally cleaned and polished. The brass demonstrates wonderful patina. Retains the Maker mark. For change of lacquer color, please add $2000.
