A spectacular and large scale Flemish early 19th century Rosewood, Mahogany, Ebony, ivory, Tortoiseshell and ormolu specimen cabinet. The fifteen drawer one door cabinet is raised by its original base with six exceptional most decorative turned legs with topie shaped feet below block supports adorned with foliate ormolu mounts each connected by similar beautiful turned stretchers. Above each leg are additional lovely pierced foliate ormolu mounts flanking three drawers each displaying two superb ivory and Tortoiseshell inlaid plaques with intricately detailed scenes depicting hunting and soldiers below the French polished top with a delicate inlaid ivory border. The cabinet above is raised by striking richly chased ormolu claw feet grasping Rosewood balls with a fine double mottled border. At the center is a single door decorated with a beautiful brick like design with soldiers on horses within an arched gateway above inlaid hunting scenes and flanked by impressive Tortoiseshell columns with mottled ormolu plinths and capitals. The door opens to reveal a stunning inlaid checkerboard design with the three original arched mirrors below an impressive dome like design with the door is also finished on the inside with exceptional inlaid geometric designs and the striking original hardware. Flanking the door are four drawers each decorated with two stunning inlaid Tortoiseshell and ivory plaques framed within most decorative mottled wavy borders and displaying foliate ormolu keyhole escutcheons and beautiful pierced plaques and rosettes throughout. Awesome vintage Art Deco dry bar or liquor cabinet comprised of Philippine mahogany. Beautiful condition, keeping in mind that this is vintage and not new so will have signs of use and wear. It's 5 O’clock somewhere!! What a FANTASTIC vintage Art Deco dry bar or liquor cabinet!! It is comprised of wonderful Philippine Mahogany and finished all the way around so it can float nicely in any room you choose, plus we have added a lovely new black painted base… and it looks FABULOUS! The front double doors are spilt at the top and in the center by a wood handle that runs the length of the doors of the cabinet. So, you can open the smaller top section and leave the lower portion closed or vice versa. The right door closes over the left, so simply pull the right-hand door using the handle which reveals the inside of the cabinet featuring shelves and a small center storage unit with doors. Piano hinges assist each door in opening and the back of the doors are lined with a gorgeous vintage bark cloth...

A fine early William IV mahogany breakfront bookcase firmly attributed Gillows of Lancaster, in four sections, the top with astragal glazed doors enclosing four adjustable shelves between reeded pilasters with anthemion scroll corbels, the base with four panelled arched doors between acanthus scroll and reeded pilasters, the frieze with two short drawers and a central secretaire drawer fitted with a reading slope and two slides above small compartments, decorated throughout with rich book-matched veneers. The secretaire drawer stamped ‘Preston’. English, circa 1835.

A. Wilson, Peck & Co, Sheffield was open for business by 1896, by two founders – Arthur Wilson (a pseudonym) and John Peck. They established a big retail shop on Pinstone Street, right opposite the town hall, which they named Beethoven House. Traces of a large painted advert for the shop’s original occupiers can still be seen in the alleyway left of the shop.
