About the Item
We present this elegant antique Italian Secretaire dating back to the early 19th century, Empire period. An extremely refined Secretaire.
Made of fine solid mahogany wood (accompanied by certificates required for export of this wood) light and characterized by an elegant linearity, two majestic lateral columns decorate the front and add grandeur. The upper surface is in fine dark gray marble that elegantly contrasts the color of the wood. Equipped with a long and narrow drawer in the upper part, while in the lower part two doors reveal a practical compartment and an additional internal drawer. The central part opens in the characteristic of all secretaires to reveal a leather-covered surface with a gold decoration in the center. A versatile surface that can be used as a support for quick writing, to consult documents or can simply be left open for aesthetic pleasure. The internal central part is equipped with many small drawers ideal for storing small objects. The secret is constituted by the first long internal drawer that can only be opened using a hidden opening (see photo).
The Secrétaire is in excellent condition, it has been professionally restored with a conservative approach that has not erased the passage of time, but has made it ready to be placed in your home in perfect period condition.
A Secrétaire that can find a place in any room of the house, living room, office or bedroom. Wherever you decide to place it, it will become a focal point of extreme elegance. We can arrange shipping worldwide, do not hesitate to contact us for more information.
