About the Item
We are delighted to offer absolutely stunning hand made in England George III circa 1760-1780 Bureau bookcase with Thomas Chippendale carvings
This is a true piece of classic English townhouse furniture. The bureau bookcase was a staple of any fine library or study, it you know your Georgian paintings you will see many a great man toiling away at one of these
This piece is quite special as its very original, it has a wonderfully detailed Thomas Chippendale style carving around the boarders of the doors. The timber is of course oak and it has the correct period patina
Condition wise, we have cleaned waxed and polished it from top to bottom. The baize is well used and aged, some of the little drawers inside are missing handles, I can have a suite of little brass ones fitted for the cost price should the new owner wish, otherwise apart from normal age and use related patina its in very fine order
