Antique 18th C. French Bleached Oak Serpentine Front Sideboard

About the Item

An absolutely stunning antique late 18th century French bleached oak serpentine front sideboard with cast brass hardware. The curving lines of the cabinet front combined with the curvilinear designs around the perimeter of each door and drawer give this piece a rococo feel. However the newly bleached raw wood finish lends a rustic European touch, updating it for the 21st century. The brass drawer pulls are accented with a shell motif. The keys are old, and they work! Left and right compartments are each 24"wide x 20"deep Center compartment is 18"wide x 18.5"deep There are solid wood dividers between each section on the interior. The shelves are removable. The height of the interior space is 22" when the shelf is removed. The construction of the cabinet is strong and the piece, being solid oak, is heavy. Three drawers and three doors offer ample storage. Look at the photos of the top, back edge to see repairs that have been made. In as found condition. Condition commensurate with age and use. The scraping and bleaching of the original finish was done in France. Scratches and scrapes in the finish, see photos. Repairs were made to the back edge of the sideboard top, see photos. Additional photos available upon request.
