Dassi Modern Furniture Sideboard in Wood, Glass and Brass

About the Item

An extraordinary and majestic inlaid wood sideboard, made in the 1950s by Dassi Mobili Moderni, famous for the quality of its creations and the excellence of mid-century Italian design. This rare and impressive piece of furniture is distinguished by its architectural structure, fine woodwork and elegant fusion of fine materials, making it a piece of great collector's and decorative value. The sideboard is supported by a solid and thick raised brass base, which has a beautiful original patina, giving it a timeless charm and a perfect balance of sturdiness and elegance. Above this base, the main body of the sideboard is developed in magnificent wood, worked with a craftsmanship that highlights the natural beauty of the grain. The cabinet features two large side compartments with doors equipped with large brass handles, making them easy to open. Their structure is designed to create a dynamic geometric effect: both blocks protrude slightly, giving the sideboard an extraordinary three-dimensionality. The wood of these doors is decorated with a fascinating zigzag texture, adding visual depth and a modern touch. Inside, the compartments are lined with fine maple wood and house drawers with elegant knobs and spacious shelves, perfect for storing valuables, dishes or documents, combining beauty and functionality in one piece of furniture. Above the main compartments are four drawers, decorated with a fine inlaid frieze depicting naturalistic scenes with ponds and leaves. This extraordinary artistic detail adds an additional level of sophistication and recalls the tradition of Italian cabinetmaking, in which marquetry has always been synonymous with craftsmanship and refinement. The top of the sideboard is surmounted by an elegant transparent glass top, which encloses the compartments below, protecting their contents and giving visual lightness to the overall structure. Another distinctive element is the central module, which features an elegant grissinated wood frame that can be opened with a brass key. This additional compartment provides an ideal space for storing confidential or particularly valuable items. Above, an open compartment provides additional surface area for displaying decorative items, books, or sculptures. Above the two large drawers, finely crafted wooden frames support a long, thick clear glass top, which adds additional storage space and gives the sideboard an even more airy and elegant look. This rare and magnificent piece of furniture is not just a piece of furniture, but a true work of functional art, perfect for large and refined spaces such as prestigious dining rooms, sophisticated living rooms or elegant reception halls. Its grandeur, combined with the finesse of its details and extraordinary build quality, makes it an ideal choice for those who want exclusive furniture that combines history, design and timeless luxury.
