Pastoe Cees Braakman Du03 Sideboard in Wenge 1958

About the Item

This is for an iconic and nice minimalist sideboard model number DU03, designed by Cees Braakman and manufactured by Pastoe UMS, Holland 1958. This unique sideboard was made on request for the previous owner and has compared to the regular teak version, a white laminated cabinet with a wenge finished front. The handles are made of black plastic and the frame is made of black painted metal. This could very well be the only one made in this version, we have never seen a similar one before anyway. This sideboard is from the Japanese series as you can see it has a lot of Japanese influences from that period, however this version gives it a completely new look, which is fresh to look at. The sideboard has 4 folding doors with a shelve behind and 4 drawers with the typical bentwood insides. Sideboard is in very good condition and the wenge parts were fully restored. The rest has only very minimal wear due to age and usage as the white laminate is very strong and wear resistant. This is a timeless piece with a very modern nowadays look and that’s why it fits nearly any interior, home or office. The piece has its original PASTOE tag on the inside of 1 of the drawers. Fully refinished with high quality UV protection lacquer with preservation of authenticity. Also, completely structural checked and ready to use.
