Ico & Luisa Parisi Early Mod. 65 Serving Cart for De Baggis, 1950s

About the Item

This elegant midcentury serving cart was designed by Italian design master Ico Parisi together with his wife Luisa, that together had founded Studio La Ruota in Como, their architectural and design firm. It is made of a mahogany wood structure with four brass wheels, and three removable trays in wood and glass. The whole shape is very organic and smooth. This piece belongs to the early production of this item (the later and most common version is the one with brass details and walnut structure). Very good conditions: the structure was left untouched, the trays have been refinished. An iconic piece, featured in several movies and tv series set in the 1960s as an true refined signature mark of the period (i.e. it's a very recognizable feature in Don Draper's office in Mad Men), this piece can stand and enrichen any interior, even the most contemporary ones, thanks to it's organic shape and an elegance that it's not overstated. Literature: R. Lietti, "Ico Parisi. Design. Catalogo ragionato 1936-1960", Silvana Editoriale, 2017.
