About Costantini Design
Costantini is a furniture design and manufacturing company founded in 2002 by artist and designer William C Stuart. The name Costantini comes from his maternal grandfather, a first generation Italian-American. Born in New York City and raised upstate, William majored in studio art at Colgate University with a year abroad in Paris, graduating with honors. In 2001, he traveled to Buenos Aires and fell in love with the culture and craftsmanship instantly. He designed his first collection soon after and opened an art and design gallery in Los Angeles. A decade later, he came home to New York and now has a studio in the famed West Chelsea Arts Building where his works blur the lines between art and functional design. The team of artisans continue to produce the majority of the furniture in Argentina. Each piece is entirely made by hand by Eduard Locota himself, from acrylic glass & cold cast bronze. Each artwork is accompanied with a certificate of authenticity signed and dated by the artist. Made to order; build process takes 4-6 weeks; please allow extra time for custom orders (colors can be customized upon request).
Every object has his own persona and is entirely made by hand using similar techniques used in metal casting. We have literally endless color combinations, and each color accentuates the different personalities of the objects.

Few Words From The Artist:
“I left on the surface of the object the imprints of my own fingers, of my hands, as well as the strikes and marks left by the actual tools used to shape the work. Later on, i took molds of my hands, fingers and of the tools that were actually used in the making of this unique piece, and duplicated them in cold cast bronze to complete the artistic statement.”
For this set of works, the synthetic materials were chosen rationally in order to explain both the physical and conceptual materiality of the theme. Though, exactly the opposite for our case, the common perception of any synthetic material is usually disposable, mass-produces and low-grad. This gives birth to a discussion about the ethical value of synthetic materials and man’s ability to perceive it culturally.

Visionary craftspeople such as Paul Evans introduced bold, geometric designs that challenge the traditional idea of what a coffee table can be. The elongated rectangles and wide boxy forms of Evans’s desirable Cityscape coffee table, for example, will meet your needs but undoubtedly prove imposing in your living space.
If you’re shopping for an older coffee table to bring into your home — be it an antique Georgian-style coffee table made of mahogany or walnut with decorative inlays or a classic square mid-century modern piece comprised of rosewood designed by the likes of Ettore Sottsass — there are a few things you should keep in mind.
Both the table itself and what you put on it should align with the overall design of the room, not just by what you think looks fashionable in isolation. According to interior designer Tamara Eaton, the material of your vintage coffee table is something you need to consider. “With a glass coffee table, you also have to think about the surface underneath, like the rug or floor,” she says. “With wood and stone tables, you think about what’s on top.”
