Hand Painted Chinese Export Trunk with European Landscape Scenes, 19th Century

About the Item

An unusual and larger size Chinese Export leather trunk with a beautifully hand painted European pastoral scenes in the Barbizon style, painted on all sides and top. The art work most likely added in the mid-late 19th century, the trunk is slightly older circa 1830s-1860s. An interesting trunk that would work as low coffee table as well.
