18th Century Italian Carved Wood, Paint and Silver Gilt Console Table circa 1775

About the Item

18th century Italian carved wood, paint and silver gilt console table, circa 1775. Good proportions with carved, embellished, bold cabriole legs terminating in a raised volute foot. Faux Sienna marble top of two boards. The two boards separated by a shrinkage age crack. I left this as found and the buyer can make the call to re-join or fill the crack. The cream color painted legs and apron contrast well with the old silver gilt decoration and faux Sienna marble top. Overall wear to the gilt and paint with an aged unrestored surface desirable in a painted piece of furniture. Strong, tight, stabile.
