Late Gothic 16th century North European Oak Trestle Table

About the Item

Danish or North German oak trestle table of interesting design. The table can be easily dismantled, by taking the two-plank top off, then the two stretchers, held in by cleats, can be disconnected from the sides. Deep, rich patina and excellent original condition with some minor old restoration, commensurate with age. For references see "Danske Bondemobler", by Axel Steensberg, Alfr. G. Hassings Forlag, Kobenhavn, MCMXLIX, Fig. 7 and 8.
