About the Item
An elegant and most decorative pair of Italian early 19th century patinated Wood, Giltwood and Verde Alpi marble consoles. This wonderful pair of demi lune shaped mirrored consoles is raised by four patinated green columns with bottom toupie shaped feet. The four column supports are joined by two scalloped display tiers with mirrored backplates and Giltwood bull nose edges. Leading up each leg are spiral rope designs below a delicate Giltwood band and the intricately details acanthus leaf capitals. Above the secondary display tier the legs are each accented by fluted designs, and finished with additional acanthus leaf capitals. The apron displays a large scale and continuous Giltwood entrelacs design accented with wonderful central rosettes. Above lay the original Verde Alpi green marble tops which follow the shape of the consoles with an ogee edge.
