20th Century, Elaine Vollherbst the Joy of Life I Acrylic Canvas Painting
About the Item
This is an Elaine Vollherbst, lane acrylic canvas painting. It is called The Joy of Life I. It is a very large rectangular framed painting that depicts a happy monkey dressed as an 18th century gentleman who is dancing and talking to a parrot that is standing over a branch in a garden. The beautiful garden is adorned with bushes of pink roses and lilies. A hummingbird is flying around the garden and a shy white rabbit is trying to hide near the bushes. Scrolls of acanthus leaves decorate the upper part of the painting. A white banner painted in the center with some trumpets adorned with a sconce made of some foliages stands above the bushes. An oatmeal-wheat color picture linen liner enframes the painting. A gilt brass color wood frame adorned with a cluster of bay leaves and foliages enhances the painting. The painting is signed Elaine Vollherbst 1997 in the left lower corner. She is an American postwar and contemporary painter who loves to paint about animals and nature.
