About the Item

“Stop of the travelers” is a charming scene depicting several characters, horses and dogs with a backdrop of woods and a small house. The composition used here is a typical characteristic to Wouwermans’ (1619–1668) style, where he draws attention to a group of people and horses in the painting, that stand together in a sort of flattened triangle without an individual separating themselves from the group.
