About the Item
Abstract modernist gouache painting on paper by Boris Koblikoff ( Russian, mid 20th century Paris ) Koblikoff went to Paris from Moscow and remained there through WWII. His work was represented by La Galerie "18" Paris, a famous art gallery owned and run by an American, Anthony Fields, during 1950's - 1960's which handled the work of the School of Paris - Raoul Dufy, Jean Dufy, Ira Moskowitz, Moise Kisling and the 1940's art of Boris Koblikoff during the 1960's. Today the location 18 rue de Miromesnil is still in operation under the name Gallery Guillon-Lafaille and run by Fanny Guillon-Lafaille who is the expert and handles the catalogue raisonne of Raoul Dufy. Koblikoff's work was later handled by Damien LeClerc Gallery, Paris. This is one of a group of Koblikoff paintings from his estate that we bought many years ago and stored away. First time we have had out for sale. Pencil signed by artist, B. Koblikoff lower right corner. Look at all pictures and read condition report in comment section.
