About the Item

Fernand Léger (1881–1955) Portrait de Femme, 1954–55 Original mid-20th century French silkscreen print (serigraph) in color on Arches paper. This print bears the blind stamps “F. Léger Serigraphie” and “GG”, part of a suite of 10 serigraphs after Léger’s original gouaches. Printed by Jean Bruller and published by La Guilde Internationale de la Gravure, Paris, 1954–55. This authorized posthumous edition was created shortly after Léger’s death as part of a limited portfolio celebrating his work in gouache. Elegantly presented in a silver gilt frame, this piece is a strong example of Léger’s signature style — combining bold color blocking, cubist structure, and rhythmic figuration. • Artist: Fernand Léger (French, 1881–1955) • Title: Portrait de Femme • Medium: Silkscreen on Arches paper • Printer: Jean Bruller • Publisher: La Guilde Internationale de la Gravure, Paris • Date: 1954–55 • Markings: Blind stamps “F.
