About the Item

About the Artist: Francine Tint is a contemporary American artist known for abstract expressionist painting. She studied at Pratt Institute and Brooklyn Museum college, and has exhibited in close to thirty solo shows and fifty group shows across the United States and Europe. Tint also draws inspiration from many years working as a television and film costume designer, giving her an eye for layered compositions and expressive color. Francine Tint was the subject of a recent New York Times Art & Design article and her surge in popularity at the age of 82. This work on paper depicting three female figures in shades of green, purple and rose on an okra background. Dedicated, signed and dated on verso. The work on paper is surmounted on white mat and presented in a custom blonde wood frame with plaster/gilt face frame, covered with acrylic. Signed and dated lower front. Dimensions: 64 1/2" H, 76 1/2" L, 2 3/4" D Condition: Please see detail photos. There is a small tear to upper left corner, light scratches to plexiglass, edge and spot losses to gilt (See photos), space to both lower joints but stable, flakes to lower right frame all mentioned for accuracy as the presentation is colorful and very strong.
