About the Item
Impressionist oil painting on canvas in rustic distressed painted frame by Joseph Lagasse (1878-1962) is a superlative landscape wherein the artist has demonstrated his skill in using hues of color to depict natural beauty, perspective, and a combination of classic earth, water and sky. Surviving in its original frame originally painted white and showing delightful distressing from the past decades, its soothing cool colors will make a splendid addition to your casual decor.
Joseph Lagasse painted in the Liège region and studied the principles of The Beaux-Arts. He had an artist brother as well, Marcel Lagasse (1880-1974), who was a noted landscape painter. In addition to his still life paintings, Joseph Lagasse also specialized in his beloved landscapes around Liège and the Ardennes forest, both of which have inspired thousands of painters over the centuries.

How we would display:
A botanical painting will forever bring a certain feeling of femininity and softness to a room. This piece would be wonderful displayed in a space with too many harsh lines. Alternatively, we suggest hanging this as part of a grouping of other floral portraits on a large wall to add interest.
