Mid-century framed oil painting on canvas by Marcel Dumont ~ dated 1943 is a poignant family portrait of a mother and three daughters in a reflective pose, showing the artist's flair for dramatic emotion. Entitled "Maternite" on the back, it survives in its original frame, and was painted during the occupation of Liege in what is now Belgium, very near the German border.
