Raphaël Rispoli, Gouache Figuring a Marine, 19th Century

About the Item

Raphaël Rispoli, signed. Gouache and pencil on paper representing three boats in the high sea. Two full-rigged ships flying the French and American flags and one steamboat with two masts. The American one is called “Rosalie”. Louis XV style frame in giltwood, ornated with scrolls and cartouches containing shells and fleurs-de-lys. Work signed “Rispoli Raphaël” in the waves on the right of the central ship, realized in the 19th century.
