Expressionist nude oil painting on canvas by western PA artist Robert J. Cronauer (1916-1995). Cronauer graduated Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 1937, earned his master's degree from Columbia University in New York City and completed his doctoral studies in fine arts and arts education at Penn State University. A nationally recognized artist, Mr. Cronauer was a member in good standing of the PSEA, PAEA and NAEA along with the Associated Artists of Pittsburgh, the Pittsburgh Water Color Society and the Johnstown Allied Artists. Signed in the left corner and en verso on wood frame. Framed 31.25" x 43.25" W x 1.5" D.
