About the Item

Bring the allure of the English countryside into your home with this remarkable pair of antique equestrian prints. These hand-colored engravings depict iconic hunting scenes with riders and their faithful hounds, embodying the elegance of traditional fox hunting. Details of the Prints:     1.    “Mr. Ville Long on ‘Briton’”     •    Features a rider in navy hunt attire astride a striking white horse, surrounded by a loyal pack of hounds.     •    Subtle details of the rolling countryside and serene sky enhance the composition.     2.    “Mr. Charles Davis on ‘The Traverser’”     •    Showcases a rider in red hunt attire on a robust chestnut horse. The scene captures the movement and vitality of the hounds in a dynamic rural landscape. Both prints are framed in rich mahogany with a beautiful patina and a lovely light burl edge, complementing their historic charm and protecting the delicate engravings. These works are by William Barraud who was celebrated for his equestrian scenes and hunting depictions. The exquisite coloring and attention to detail highlight the skill of the engravers and colorists of the period.
