This stylish, chic and whimsical set of limited edition lithographs by Francoise Deberdt will make a statement with their subject matter and colors. Note: The vertical and the horizontal framing have the same overall dimensions accordingly. Overall Frame dimensions are 26.13 width x 34.13 height x 1.63 depth. Note: The pieces has been professionally framed using archival materials and mat. Note: These lithographs were published in a portfolio of 5 in 1979 by Bowles-Hopkins Publishing, San Francisco. (see photos of the paper portfolio wrapper which itself measures 28 3/4" h x 20 7/8" w). The edition included 200 of the 5 images on machine-made Arches cotton art paper, and an exclusive edition of 50 printed on the more refined Japanese Nacre paper, as was reserved for major artists at that time, such as Chagall. The framed lithographs in this listing are 25 of the select edition of 50, and each is numbered and signed in pencil by the artist. Françoise Deberdt was born in 1934 in Donnemarie-en-Montois (Seine et Marne) the daughter of a Flemish father and a Hungarian mother. She had been drawing since the early age of seven. She began her formal training at age fourteen. From 1948 to 1954 she studied at the "Ecole d'Arts appliqués" (School of applied arts) in Paris, Then one year studied glass painting and engraving technics at the" Atelier d'Art sacré" (training for Church restorations) and later studied fine art at the National School of Fine Arts in Paris (Atelier Legueult). Married to the architect Jean-Claude Bernard, 1st Grand Prix de Rome. Exhibited regularly since 1957. Lives and still works in Paris.
