About the Item

An Italian Baroque pair of carved and painted wood decorative wall brackets from the 18th century. These antique decorative wall brackets from Italy each feature a carved putto head at top, over a cascading motif of ribbons, flowers, and foliate below, all set within a slender, rectangular-shaped frame. The sides have a narrow, triangular-shape, with top being set with more depth from the wall and lower tapering to become more snug at the bottom. There is a lovely old patina throughout and chippy bits about the perimeter, which gives these items much character. These period Baroque Italian brackets, with their cheerful cherub faces and length of over 3 feet, will make excellent wall decorations adding great depth, color and textural interest to a room.
