  • Charles Eames Sofa Compact
    By Charles Eames
    Located in Toronto, Ontario
A very rare and rather exceptional sofa compact by Charles Eames for Herman Miller. This example is special for a few reasons. It is a very early model as evidenced by the centre metal bracket. It is also a folding example. Later pieces were fixed in place. This sofa also retains the original vintage Alexander Girard "giant stripe" textile. A very rare thing as most were reupholstered of originally upholstered in a basic vinyl or wool . This textile and construction dates the sofa to approx. 1959. This is most likely the best example of a vintage Sofa Compact available for sale. A true museum example. From Herham Miller website: Why “compact” for a sofa that’s six feet wide and seats three? The clean profile of the Eames sofa compact...

  • JENNY Large Wall Light or Sconce in Enamel & Brass by Blueprint Lighting
By Blueprint Lighting, Stilnovo, Mathieu Matégot
    Located in New York, NY
Introducing Jenny, the latest vintage-inspired fixture from Blueprint Lighting. Named for multi-hyphenate Jenny Mollen; NYT best-selling author, actress, design enthusiast, mom of 2 and wife of actor Jason Biggs. From our Chief Luminary, Kelly Aaron: "I have been working closely with Jenny off and on for the past year while she gives her NYC apartment a facelift--it's been so fun! She and I share a love of 1950s French design, which is obviously a hallmark of the Blueprint aesthetic. One day Jenny texted a pic of a single vintage mid-century French wall sconce she loved and asked if Blueprint could make it for her. Funny enough--I, too, had seen that same sconce the day before and already had my Creative Director/Husband figuring out how to fabricate it. How great is that?! It was meant to be!" The Jenny sconce...

  • Mid Century Charles & Ray Eames Leg Splint for Evans Products, 1943
    By Charles and Ray Eames
    Located in Bruxelles, BE
Before Charles & Ray Eames made their name with modernist chairs, they perfected the molding of plywood with a military leg splint for World War II. This iconic piece of history is sculpturally crafted in one piece using molded plywood and birch material. Now a real design icon! With its organic form and flowing lines, a true elegant design object and very sculptural. Highly collectible and in many museum collections (MoMA, V&A, Smithsonian, Metropolitan. Makes for an eye catching wall art sculpture that can be mounted vertically or horizontally. Or use it as a huge fruit bowl...
