Antique Art Deco Platinum Old European Diamond Sapphire Long Filigree Brooch Pin

This magnificent antique brooch was crafted from solid .900 platinum during the art deco period. It features a large rectangular shape adorned open filigree work, milgrain etching, and over 7 carats of VERY FINE quality old cut diamonds. The center stone alone weighs in at exactly 1.49 carats with faint yellow L color and loupe-clean VS1 clarity. The 36 old European cut diamonds that make up the central plateau are individually pavé set in their own milgrain-framed square panels. They are near-colorless with G/H color, are mostly loupe-clean with VS1 to SI1 clarity, and total approximately 3.60 carats in weight. The remaining 158 diamonds are old single and rose cut and total approximately 2.15 carats in weight with similar quality to the old Euro cuts. The diamonds sparkle magnificently and are sure to catch the eye of whoever comes across it. This stunning antique Victorian jewelry set, consisting of a necklace, brooch, bangle and earrings, is handcrafted in 22k yellow gold. The anterior face of the bangle is ornamented with a strapwork style design accented with bead decorated cuffs, incorporating an impressive coral bead to the center of the design. The coral bead is further ornamented with an applied six point 22k yellow gold star embellished with a single old mine cut diamond. The impressive hinged bangle secures to one side with a integrated push fit clasp. The coral is encircled with an a further bead decorated border. The brooch has an oval form and features the identical strapwork style ornamentation as that to the bangle. The brooch is further ornamented with four bead decorated triangular motifs, in addition to an applied rope twist decorated border. The main body of this impressive Victorian brooch contains a locket to the reverse, suitable to hold a photograph or personal memento. The brooch secures to the reverse with a hinged pin The earrings also feature the coral bead and star design displayed within an 22k yellow gold incurved setting, accented with bands of bead decoration to the upper and lower portions. Antique and vintage brooches, which are decorative jewels traditionally pinned to garments and used to fasten pieces of clothing together where needed, have seen increasing popularity in recent years.
