Orchid flower pendant-brooch designed by Elizabeth Gage. Exceptional pendant-brooch, created in London by the British jewelry designer Elizabeth Gage, back in the 1990. This piece of jewelry is magnificent and has been carefully crafted in the shape of an Orchid, in solid yellow gold of 18 karats with polished finishes. It is a one of a kind unique piece fitted at the reverse with a hinged vertical pin and a trombone security lock to wear as a pendant or a brooch. The craftmanship developed in this piece is amazing, precise and meticulous. Fire Opal: Mount in a bezel setting, with 1 oval faceted cut (11 x 8 x 6 mm) carved from natural translucent fire opal of 6.39 carats. Agates: Mount in bezel settings, with 6 free forms elements carved in the shape of orchids petals from natural dendrite agate. Dendrite Agate Dendrite Agate which is also called the plentitude stone, is among the rarest categories of stones and is rarely found in different parts of the world like, Australia, Madagascar, US, Namibia, Mexico, Magnolia, India and even China. It has a rich historical significance as it is being used by the Egyptians for over 3000 years and is thus, among the oldest gemstones. Dendritic Agate is a type of Agate with fern-like inclusions known as dendrites, and crystallizes in the form of masses. These impurities are formed from trace amounts of Manganese and Iron. The color of Dendritic Agate is usually found in white, gray, or a light yellow-brown; but can also be found as light purple. Elizabeth Gage works in 18 and 22 carat gold. Her 'Helios' gold necklace, featured in Tatler magazine, took 203 grams of gold and 93 man hours to create.
