A fine and impressive antique seed pearl necklace in 18 karat yellow gold; part of our seed pearl jewellery collection. This fine and impressive seed pearl necklace has been crafted in 18k yellow gold. This unusual and desirable pendant is embellished with two feature articulated bud style drops, each supporting three suspended pearl terminals. Each bud design is ornamented with five seed pearls, graduating in size dependent on location. The differing length bud drops are suspended via a yellow gold chain, incorporating equidistant seed pearls; the longer chain bears three pearls and the shorter features two pearls. The asymmetrical, Art Nouveau style interlacing design to the apex of the pendant is embellished with thirty-one graduating seed pearls. The feature setting of this Victorian seed pearl necklace is suspended from an 18k yellow gold trace chain via two integrated ring loops. The chain features six further seed pearls and secures to the reverse with a link loop fastening. This impressive and unusual pendant has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 18 karat gold. The impressive navette-shaped antique pendant is embellished with a stunning feature oval cabochon cut garnet to the centre, surmounted with an impressive yellow gold stellate setting incorporating a single claw set seed pearl to the centre. The elevated feature stone is encompassed with an impressive band of white hot enamel, accented with yellow gold scrolling leaf designs and encompassed with a scalloped shaped border. This stunning horizontal navette setting is further ornamented with bands of rope twist decoration paralleling the central sunken portion and the outer rim; these borders flank graduating curvilinear bead arrays to the cardinal points. This feature setting supports an articulated vertical navette-shaped drop, bearing identical aforementioned ornamentation. The detachable pendant drop features an impressive articulated tassel design to the lower border, completing the design. This stunning pendant is suspended from an associated 9k yellow gold belcher chain from a similar period. The chain catch is hallmarked with the fineness mark for 9k yellow gold. This stunning antique pendant can also be worn as a brooch via a hinged pin and clasp fastening to the reverse of the apex setting.
