About the Item

Antique Perfume Bottle, 18K yellow gold, fine natural vivid blue lapis with slight flecks of gold, and rock crystal by Auguste Fraumont , c. 1850. an important jeweler working in Paris, at 51, rue Neuve-des-Petits-Champs. Fraumont was especially known for his fine diamond jewelry. This rock crystal perfume bottle is in excellent condition, the hand engraving is fine and intricately executed on 18K yellow gold. The hinged top works very well and shows no sign of wear or overuse. The large cabochon cut lapis lazuli stone at the top is a bright blue. The stopper is original along with the use of a lady's hair (no doubt the original ower) to absorb any leakage. Please note our model has a medium to large size hand. Today, a preponderance of jewelry is machine made in large factories around the world with abundant and obvious suspicions as to its enduring qualities using not only inferior stones, but also man made stones and treated stones utilizing artificial substances.
