About the Item
This finely engraved cup and saucer is made out of solid silver. The cup is marked just below the rim with the head of minerva looiking to the right in an octagonal frame. This mark was in use from 1838. The cup is engraved with the ligated letters A and B surrounded by an ornamental intertwined ribbon. The saucer is engraved with the smaller initials MR in a rectangular frame, possibly the initials of the giver.
