A lovely light for hallways and entrances, this hand-blown glass lantern is attributed to Seguso. The glass is a beautiful sea green, the colour of the Venetian Laguna. As always, these lovely lanterns create their own magic and show amazing craftsmanship. The lantern consists of glass with a fishnet pattern, blown inside a gilded wire cage, with a vintage chain and ceiling cap. The total drop from ceiling to tip, including chain and ceiling cap, is 80cm or 31.5 inches, adjustable by changing chain length. This lovely light came from the hallway of a late 1930s Melbourne bayside mansion. In Rose Pink Murano glass with brass fittings, it takes a single B22 (standard bayonet) bulb. Beautiful oxide patina on the brass. Not as fragile as its delicate appearance suggests, the light is strong and sound. Original except for new wiring, all parts in excellent condition.
