Based on the south coast of England Clive Meredith is an entirely self-taught artist and has been working professionally since 1993 specialising in detailed portrayals of wildlife from both Britain and abroad. Clive’s initial interest in wildlife and the countryside was fostered in his early years, brought up the son of a dairy farmer, and spending hours outside in the Shropshire countryside birdwatching and larking about on the river Severn and its streams in his hometown of Shrewsbury. Working in both graphite pencil and oils, observation is vital to Clive’s working practice. Previously with: Galerie Frédéric Gollong, Saint-Paul-De-Vence, 1984 Pierre Saint-Sorny first studied at the Royal Academy in Brussels (1932-1933) and, subsequently, at the Académie des Beaux Arts in Mons (1934-1935) where he received the Grand Prize for Design. In 1946, he resumed his studies at the Académie de Namur where he was awarded the Sculpture Prize. In 1950, he moved to Paris to attend the Académie de la Grande Chaumière which he followed with a period of study at the Centre de l'Expressionisme in Flanders. Stanley Boxer (1926-May 8, 2000) was an American abstract expressionist artist best known for thickly painted abstract works of art. He was also an accomplished sculptor and printmaker. He received awards from the Guggenheim Fellowship and the National Endowment for the Arts. Boxer was born in New York City, and began his formal education after World War II, when he left the Navy and studied at the Art Students League of New York. He drew, painted, made prints, and sculpted. His work was recognized by art critic Clement Greenberg, who categorized him as a color field painter, A group that included Barnett Newman, Clyfford Still, and Mark Rothko and was a form of Abstract Expressionism and later included Helen Frankenthaler, Ad Reinhardt, Kenneth Noland, Gene Davis, Jules Olitski, Raymond Parker and Morris Louis. Boxer himself was adamant in rejecting this stylistic label. Over the years, he remained loyal to the materially dense abstract mode on which his reputation rested.. Art critic Grace Glueck wrote "Never part of a movement or trend, though obviously steeped in the language of Modernism, the abstract painter Stanley Boxer was a superb manipulator of surfaces, intensely bonding texture and color." In 1953 Boxer had his first solo exhibition of paintings in New York City, and showed regularly thereafter until his death. His paintings and sculpture were represented in New York City during the late 1960s through 1974 by the Tibor de Nagy Gallery, then by the André Emmerich Gallery from 1975 until 1993, and finally by Salander-O'Reilly Galleries until its demise in 2007. Masha Iv was born on May 23, 1986. In 2006, she graduated from the Carl Faberge College of Arts and Crafts (Moscow), in 2007 - from the school "Free Workshops" at the Moscow Museum of Modern Art. In 2010, she received an additional education at the Russian Correspondence Institute of Textile and Light Industry. Since 2007, Masha Iv has actively participated in group exhibitions and realized a large number of art projects in Russia and abroad, including such major events as the Moscow Biennial of Young Art (2008) and the Moscow Biennial of Contemporary Art (2009, 2011 and 2013). Cooperates with the State Tretyakov Gallery, the Moscow Museum of Modern Art, the State Darwin Museum. Artists statement: The key themes of my works are the study of the natural landscape of our planet, drawing attention to environmental issues and the harmonious coexistence of man and nature. I work in mixed techniques, as I like to experiment with paints on different bases and observe how they interact with each other. Such experiments often lead me to surprising results. I most often find the phrases and captions integrated into my works in in-flight magazines, glossies, advertising campaigns and other print media. More precisely, the right phrases find me on their own at the right time when I'm working on a particular painting. Glimpsed phrases are often stored in our subconscious and sometimes serve as a trigger or set a vector of movement. Motivational phrases in paintings are like beacons that point in the right direction so as not to veer off course.
