About the Item
In this original acrylic paint and vinyl on paper from Art Angler Gallery, Jose Palacios depicts an abstract pop art style. Cat Zone 01 explodes with electric energy and cartoon chaos. At its heart, a graffiti-style feline figure leaps out — wild-eyed, jagged-toothed, part-doodle, part-superhero. The canvas is split by color fields: left in washed aquas and citrus yellow, right in fuchsia and teal punches, all stitched together with squiggles, splats, and razor-sharp black lines. A ribbon of striped waves cuts through like a highway in the sky. The background pulses with soft plant shapes, looping trails, and sketchy butterflies, while thick blotches of paint erupt in confident, instinctive gestures. It’s both playful and untamed — a visual shout, a snapshot of movement frozen mid-pounce.
The painting is 27.5 x 39.5 inches and comes unframed.
Jose Palacios was born in Spain in 1970. A self taught artist, he began his career in the world of comic books and illustration publications. He later transitioned to graphic design and street art. Jose was greatly influenced by the "Movida Madrileña" an explosive cultural period in the 1980's during Spain's transition from dictatorship to democracy which produced arist's such as Ceesepe, Fernando Vicente, Ana Juan, Ouka Leele and Javier de Juan.
