About the Item
A bold, intensely color-saturated painting from Stephen Henriques, who is influenced by Bonnard and Vuillard, and the western landscape and its light. When referring to his oil on abstract canvases that glow with yellow, blue, orange and red, he says,"magnificent color is my greatest gift and joy". A California painter, Stephen Henriques is strongly influenced by music; and specifically jazz. 'Pacific Plates No. 8' is a pure abstraction where color reigns and the senses are dazzled in the composition that is at once, balanced, harmonious and electric.
