An original painting, made with 24k gold leaves, crushed minerals (natural and synthetic), oyster shells and Japanese ink on Japanese paper, mounted on a wood panel. Natural colors include precious and semi-precious stones. Because these substances have unique chemical and physical properties, every artwork has unique characteristics and a sense of connection to the Earth. It has a matt and rich sand-like texture. What originally inspired Mitsumori to paint were the cityscapes of Jaisalmer, India. The beautiful cityscapes reminded her of jewelry that retains its shine even after a thousand years.
