Wood-Signed limited edition still life print, Black white, Landscape, Contemporary
Located in Barcelona, Barcelona
Wood - Signed limited edition archival pigment print, 1981 - Edition of 5 This image was captured on film. The negative was scanned creating a digital file which was then printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag® Baryta 315 gsm (Acid- and lignin-free paper, Museum quality for highest age resistance and a popular alternative to analogue baryta paper) using pigment inks which are known for their longevity. Please note. There are three sizes of this archival pigment print ; each is an edition of five (5) making the total that can be printed as fifteen (15). This will include any custom sizes requested Signed + numbered by artist with certificate of authenticity , unframed Archival pigment print available sizes : 40 x 53 cm / 15,75 x 20,87 in. - Edition of 5 56 x 75 cm / 22,05 x 29,53 in. - Edition of 5 75 x 100 cm / 29,53 x 39,37 in. - Edition of 5 Ian Sanderson (born 1951 Scotland, died 2020 Spain) was a Scottish photographer. He produced images over a 35 year career, and in recent years used archival techniques to produce his prints. For most of his career he worked as both a Commercial and Fine Art photographer, and during his last years concentrated on his personal imagery. Towards the end of his life journey, Ian was reviving with his partner two 19th century printing techniques in their studio, Platinum Palladium and Gum Bichromate ( one-of-a-kind pieces). This culminated in a large retrospective exhibition in Barcelona which was sponsored by the Nando and Elsa Peretti Foundation. The Platinum and Palladium prints are particularly interesting as they printed them onto vellum paper therefore transparent and bonded pure gold or silver to the back of the prints ( every print is therefore a unique and timeless piece of art). They have created rare and personalized pieces with an artisanal technique. Ian Sanderson was one of only a handful of artists worldwide producing this type of work. Nowadays, Ian’s partner continues their work, she’s still creating Platinum Palladium prints but also silver gelatin photographs. Please note that prices increase as editions sell. categories : Black and white photography, 20th. century, Archival pigment print, Hospitality, Forest, Monochromatic Landscape art...

California Dreaming - large scale photograph of iconic desert landscape
Located in San Francisco, CA
California Dreaming by Frank Schott from a series of photographs capturing the Golden State's vast desert landscapes 27 x 40 inches / 68cm x 102cm edition of 25 signed 48 x 72 inches / 122cm x 183cm edition of 7 signed archival quality fine art pigment print limited art edition published by Edition EKTAlux artist signed + numbered certificate of authenticity ________________________ Frank Schott grew up in Germany and attended the prestigious Academy of Arts in Cologne, studying under Professor Arno Jansen, who was an early influence. Moving to California in 1998, Schott's work has evolved to include the epic landscapes and deserts of the American West as well as architectural, conceptual and more formal environments from both home and his travels. Influenced by a number of photographic peers and precursors such as Candida Höfer, Andreas Gursky, Thomas Struth, Jeff Wall, Michael Wolf, Gregory Crewdson, William Eggleston and Joel Sternfeld, Schott's images successfully blend technical, conceptual and formal rigor with a decisive sense of composition and color. Schott's images have an iconic sensibility and give us a bird's eye view onto humanity and its constructs. The specific is edged towards the abstract, often revealing the compelling and disjunctive moment where nature meets man. Frank Schott was born in Cologne, Germany in 1962. He currently lives and works in San Francisco...

9/11 - Twin Towers in Angelic Light, Architecture
Located in Miami, FL
Since its construction, Mitchell Funk has been chronicling the Twin Towers, of the World Trade Center. More specifically, he has been recording how light affects and transforms the two giant monoliths. Like us all, Mitchell was inspired by the formidable presence of the two buildings. Living in Brooklyn Heights with great views of lower Manhattan gave him a special advantage and opportunity to assemble some of the most iconic Twin Tower images ever taken. To Mitchell Funk, the Twin Towers, of the World Trade Center were the perfect synthesis of commerce and art. Most modern architecture is simply functional. Minoru Yamasaki's Twin Towers were in fact something quite radical. They were a steel and glass expression of Minimalism on the grandest scale in human history. Everything in the towers was stripped down to its essential quality with nothing extraneous added ….. except light. The way the buildings reflected light made them unique and inspired Mitchell to record them in color for 32 years. Although, the exterior was actually made of a very reflective blue/grey stainless steel the warm light of daybreak and sunset could change their color and transform them from buildings into and mystical monumental sculptures. With the help of the sun as a key player, Mitchell’s images of the Twin Towers progress from the mystical to the spiritual as they reflect the sun’s intense golden energy. Under these conditions, one could argue, that the Twin Tower housed the same type of divine energy as the adjacent churches. In the wake of the 9/11 tragedy, one could interpret Twin Tower sunset images differently. A sunset can be a symbol for the end of the day or simply The End. The 1969 image “Dead End” is a visual prognostication. The North Tower is under construction in the background and in the foreground, Mitchell has framed it between two street signs that read Dead End. In Mitchell’s Twin Tower photographs, he is not taking a tourist picture that says “here I am on the Brooklyn Heights Promenade...

Epic Western No. 38
Located in New York, NY
Listing includes free shipping for unframed prints in the continental U.S. and a 14 day return policy. Jim Krantz Epic Western No. 38, 2020 40 x 60 inch chromogenic print Edition 5 of 7 Krantz occupies a unique place in the history of contemporary art for his imagery blending western landscape photography with the figure of the cowboy as depicted and romanticized in American popular culture. The technical underpinning of his work was established when he studied with Ansel Adams and Paul Caponigro, but perhaps more importantly, Krantz’s work reflects a dictum that he learned from Adams: “Technical proficiency leads to artistic freedom.” His range and versatility are his forte, working with ease in demanding and ever-changing conditions. If Krantz’s work looks familiar, it is not surprising. Krantz, had been documenting the cinematic vistas of the American West for 20 years on commercial assignments and these much published images caught the eye of appropriation artist, Richard Prince, known for re-photographing advertisements and presenting the resulting images in a new “conceptual” context. Prince’s most famous series is his large scale reproductions of the cowboy images...

"find us soon" black and white photography moon sky clouds tree silhouette
Located in Phoenix, AZ
Marie Navarre find us soon, 2020 archival digital print on Surface Gampi, Rives BFK 25.5" x 25" unframed 28.75" x 27.75" framed Edition of 5 Marie Navarre’s deep interest in poetry, especially the Japanese form of Haiku, has had a profound influence on her work. She conjures dreamlike images that appear to be from just outside the realm of human observation, like the fragments of a distant memory. She prints her mysterious and timeless images of flocks of birds, grey sky and shimmering endless horizons unmoored from specific times and places, then hand stitches over a background of Gampi paper—a soft, silky Japanese paper that has a satin-like sheen. These enigmatic photographic constructions document the implications of a moment rather than its actuality. The artist understands that her relationship to photography is complex: “I have this trouble of being a photographer but wanting to make the photographs into something else.
