About the Item

Signals is a lithograph print realized by Leo Guida in the 1970s. Good condition, with slight folding on white margins. Artist sensitive to current issues, artistic movements and historical techniques, Leo Guida has been able to weave a productive interview on art and the function of the artist with many generations of young people during his activity. He was a teacher at the Liceo Artistico di Latina from 1969 to 1985, and trained many of the artists who today characterize the Italian cultural landscape. Copious was his production of graphic works in which Guida showed all his talent for the techniques of chalcography, etching, aquatint and burin etc. In his pedagogical work he led students to observe both plastic forms and internal evolutionary dynamics and not the history of art. Dans son travail pédagogique, il a amené les élèves à observer à la fois les formes plastiques et les dynamiques évolutives internes et non l'histoire de l'art.

Jimmy Ernst  Plate IV - 1970 Print - Screen Print on Heavy Paper 28'' x 37'' inches Edition: Signed in pencil and numbered 125/125 Jimmy Ernst’s artwork was influenced by a number of powerful talents and vital currents in the art of his time. Son of Max Ernst, Jimmy drew upon the biomorphic and surreal compositions of his father, as well as Arp, Klee, André Breton, and Lyonel Feininger. His mature oil paintings, which emerged in the 1950s and 1960s, reflect the Atomic Age aesthetic of the period. Often, they resemble crystals or webs; many look like vast labyrinths and are interpreted as symbols of the unconscious mind. Ernst was always interested in spirituality and drew inspiration from indigenous American art...
