They are mounted on a cardboard passepartout and in a gilded frame.
Antonio Tempesta, also known as Il Tempestino (Florence, 1555 - Rome, 1630), was an Italian painter and engraver of the early Baroque period. Antonio Tempesta trained in the culture of late Mannerism, with a naturalistic but also calligraphic taste, acquired from the frequentation of Giovanni Stradano, with whom he collaborated in the decoration of Palazzo Vecchio.
Moving to Rome in 1573, he worked for Pope Gregory XIII, frescoing some maps of Rome in the Vatican, including the famous Map of Rome (1593). In the pontifical capital, he worked for many noble families and for important cardinals, such as Alessandro Farnese and Scipione Borghese. His works are in San Giovanni dei Fiorentini, at the villa in Caprarola, in Tivoli.

Giovanni Andrea Podestà or Giovanni Andrea Podesta (1608 - c. 1674) was an Italian painter and engraver who was principally active in Rome. His principal subject matter is children playing in landscapes with classical objects. His works show the influence of Poussin's Arcadian landscapes and bacchanals, which were ultimately derived from Titian's bacchanals.
Life
Giovanni Andrea Podestà was born in Genoa. He was formed in Genoa with Giovanni Andrea de Ferrari and Domenico Fiasella according to the information provided by the contemporary Genoese biographer Raffaele Soprani. He is also recorded as an apprentice of Giovanni Battista Paggi in 1627.
His presence is documented from in 1634 in Rome where he made drawings after the statues and ancient reliefs at the famous Giustiniani collection. These were subsequently engraved for publication in the 'Galleria Giustiniani'. The artist's career ran a course similar to that of the young Domenico Fiasella. This beautiful colorful engraving is printed on thin laid chain-linked paper. There are subtle creases in the right upper corner, very common with Besler's relating to the drying of the paper during its production. The right margin is thinner than the others. An exciting original print, with all the dignity of a mythological or epic story, represented with an incredible balance of black and white, light and shadow, and a typical Baroque dynamism.
Antonio Tempesta, also known as Il Tempestino (Florence, 1555 - Rome, 1630), was an Italian painter and engraver of the early Baroque period. Antonio Tempesta trained in the culture of late Mannerism, with a naturalistic but also calligraphic taste, acquired from the frequentation of Giovanni Stradano, with whom he collaborated in the decoration of Palazzo Vecchio.
Moving to Rome in 1573, he worked for Pope Gregory XIII, frescoing some maps of Rome in the Vatican, including the famous Map of Rome (1593). In the pontifical capital, he worked for many noble families and for important cardinals, such as Alessandro Farnese and Scipione Borghese. His works are in San Giovanni dei Fiorentini, at the villa in Caprarola, in Tivoli.
