About the Item

Heinrich Glintenkamp was American painter, printmaker, and illustrator. His work was featured in "The Masses" and in the the Metropolitan Museum of Art and Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. This linocut of a Mexican pottery workshop where the four male figures, potter's wheel, (the mechanism is showing under the table -- foot operated?), work bench, and many, many pots can hardly fit. It is clearly back-breaking labor. The print is monogrammed and dated XXX (1930), in the upper left corner.
