Hope (unique screen print with gold leaf)
Located in Aventura, FL
Unique UV pigment print on a 6-colour silkscreen printed background 410gsm Somerset Tub-sized Radiant white 100% cotton paper, finished with hand-applied 24 carat gold leaf and ink. Hand signed lower left by Pejac. Hand numbered 723/1000 lower right corner. Artwork size 31.49 x 21.65 inches. Frame size 38 x 28 inches. The artwork is in excellent condition. Certificate of authenticity by Pejac included. All reasonable offers will be considered. HOPE was born in 2020 when, at the height of the pandemic, Pejac painted a mural on a hospital in his hometown – Santander. Seen from afar, thousands of figures formed the illusion of large crevice. The artwork quickly went viral online, and became a symbol of hope for many. Begun in the middle of 2023, our collaboration is centered on the question of how hope is found or created. To create the original work, Pejac undertook a month-long residency at Make-Ready in London. HOPE is an unprecedented collaboration between artist and printmaker. With the edition, Pejac reinterprets his iconic crevice which, seen up close, you will be surprised to see is made up from a multitude of tiny, individually-painted people. Each one plays their part in an overarching story of humanity. In the first print, just three figures appear, in the second, there are six and so on until the final print in the series of 1000, which features several thousand figures – each one unique. About the Artist: Pejac, born in Santander in 1977 is a Spanish street artist known for his minimalist style whilst exploring sensitive social, environmental and political issues. His work is powerful and deliberately provocative about real-world issues and he uses a range of artistic styles and mediums to get his often critical message across. Pejac studied art in Barcelona and Milan where he became disillusioned with the elitist attitude of the art world he was studying; he left formal education and embarked on his street art career. To label Pejac as a street artist is only capturing one element of his work. Pejac works to such fine detail and is technically highly skilled; he is quite capable at getting his message across with silhouette paintings on a wall or floor as he is at producing work in a classical style with exquisite fine detail. Pejac’s art...

Helen Fay, Strolling, Penguin Art, Limited Edition Print, Affordable Art
Located in Deddington, GB
Strolling by Helen Fay [2012] Limited Edition Etching , hand printed on Hanemulle etching paper Edition number edition size 75 Image size: H:21 cm x W:18 cm Complete Size of Unframed Work: H:35 cm x W:30 cm x D:.15cm Sold Unframed Please note that insitu images are purely an indication of how a piece may look Original Etching, hand made and hand printed. A king penguin going for a wander. Penguins are the perfect subjects for my work. The graphic qualities and character of penguins make watching and drawing them an absolute joy. Animals have always been at the heart of my work. I find the form, movement and behaviour of the creatures I draw a source of limitless fascination. I love the idea of them watching me, watching them as I draw. I hope my appreciation of the sentience and character of the animals I draw comes across in my work. Over my career I have drawn everything from primates to penguins, dogs, ostriches and even an echidna. These days dogs are my main focus, mostly because I adore dogs but also because they are such an integral part of life. I am delighted by the theory that humans and dogs co evolved, we wouldn’t be what we are without them and vice versa. I try to pare my images down to a balanced simplicity that directs attention to the subject of the picture. I try to balance the subject and the space it occupies, giving each equal importance. Light is hugely important to my work, I imagine my subject in three dimensions as I draw and the light describes the musculature and texture that gives the drawing it’s presence and grounds it in the picture. I aim to capture a pause, a moment where whatever I draw looks like it could wander off or leap up any minute. My influences include Japanese prints, Chinese and Japanese brush drawing and the European artists who were influenced by Japan. I am really excited by composition, by artists like Bonnard and Leon Spilliaert...

Grus Cinerea (Common Crane) /// John Gould Ornithology Bird Animal Lithograph
Located in Saint Augustine, FL
Artist: John Gould (English, 1804-1881) Title: "Grus Cinerea (Common Crane)" (Vol. 4, Plate 19) Portfolio: The Birds of Great Britain Year: 1862-1873 Medium: Original Hand-Colored Lithograph on wove paper Limited edition: approx. 750 Printer: Walter or Walter & Cohn, London, UK Publisher: Taylor and Francis, John Gould, London, UK Reference: Sauer No. 23; Ayer/Zimmer page 261; Wood page 365; Nissen No. IVB 372; Sitwell page 78 Sheet size: 14.75" x 21.57" Image size: 12.75" x 20.13" Condition: Has been professionally stored away for decades. In excellent condition with strong colors Notes: Provenance: private collection - Aspen, CO. Lithography and hand-coloring by German artist Joseph Wolf (1820-1899) and Irish artist William Hart (1830-1908). Comes from Gould's five volume "The Birds of Great Britain", (1862-1873) (First edition), which consists of 367 hand-colored lithographs. Other contributing lithographers were John Gould and English artist Henry Constantine Richter (1821-1902). "The Birds of Great Britain" is recognized as Gould's greatest work. Gold gilded edges as issued. The common crane, also known as the Eurasian crane, is a bird of the family Gruidae, the cranes. A medium-sized species, it is the only crane commonly found in Europe besides the demoiselle crane and the Siberian crane that only are regular in the far eastern part of the continent. Biography: John Gould FRS (14 September 1804 – 3 February 1881) was an English ornithologist and bird artist. He published a number of monographs on birds, illustrated by plates that he produced with the assistance of his wife, Elizabeth Gould, and several other artists including Edward Lear, Henry Constantine Richter, Joseph Wolf and William Matthew Hart. He has been considered the father of bird study in Australia and the Gould League in Australia is named after him. His identification of the birds now nicknamed "Darwin's finches" played a role in the inception of Darwin's theory of evolution by natural selection. Gould's work is referenced in Charles Darwin's book, "On the Origin of Species".

Bomber and Buckeroos by Till Goodan, Westward Ho Company
Located in Phoenix, AZ
Bomber And Buckeroos ca. 1939 Till Goodan Offset Lithograph PRINTS ARE IN GOOD CONDITION. PRINTS MAY HAVE SMALL FLAW ALONG EDGE OF PAPER, DOES NOT EFFECT THE PRINT IMAGE All the prints are 26 x 31 inches, Mustang Peeler, Bombers and Buckaroos, The stranger, Guardians of the Range and Range Baby. Note that “The Mustang Runner” is 3 inches shorter in height, 23 x 31 inches The print by Till Goodan was originally a painting and reproduced by the Westward Ho company as a set. Westward Ho produced the most sought after Western dinnerware ever made. The most popular pattern was the Rodeo pattern by Till Goodan. He Illustrated and branded many accessories sold by the Westward Ho Company. Tillman Parker Goodan 1896-1958 To the casual observer his paintings are exciting and colorful. To the scholars of the Western Era they are benchmarks of authenticity. Such is the style of Till Goodan. He was born Tillman Parker Goodan in Eaton, Colorado on March 27, 1896. His father was a true western pioneer, mayor of Eaton, publisher of its first newspaper, and County Commissioner for several years. After moving to California in 1905 and settling on a little farm that bordered the Michel Cattle Ranch, Till spent much of his boyhood with the Michel sons working on their ranch. There he developed his expertise as a calf roper and the skills of a working cowboy. As a young man Till pursued endeavors that would initially callous his emerging artistic hands. He worked for the famous Miller and Lux Ranch in California. He packed mules and ran pack trains into the Sierra Mountains. He broke horses and competed in local rodeos riding saddle broncs and roping calves. And during the quiet hours he would draw pictures of ranch life and the action of the rodeo. People began commenting on his talents as an artist. In 1917 he left the rodeo circuit and turned his full attention to a career in art. He studied with Roger Sterrett, William Paxton, and Dana Bartlett, all highly respected California artists. Till soon became a free-lance commercial artist doing work for Grauman’s Chinese and Lowe’s Theaters, Helms Bakery and Security Bank. He later assumed a position as Art Director for the Richfield Oil Company. However, his first love was still the art of the old west, horses, cowboys, and ranching. So, he left Richfield and gave his full attention to the field of fine arts. He did oil painting, water colors and lithographs. He drew the Gene Autry Comic Books. He illustrated and hand lettered a large collection of stories about famous bucking horses, ranches, horsemen of the world, and western gear. In association with W.C. Wentz, he started producing a complete line of western gift wares, ceramics, bronzes, leather, paper, and fabric. By the 1930′s he was beginning to receive recognition for his western art and by the early 1940s, he and his daughter, Betty, were illustrating comic books for his longtime friend, Gene Autry. Betty was also a world champion cowgirl. Till Goodan designs appeared in virtually every medium. But, the most famous was the four lines of dinnerware produced by Wallace China...

On one side is the heathland and woodland, and on the other are marshes and the sea, making this village rich in wildlife. Jo Padfield, printmaker and artist, is available for sale online and in our gallery at Wychwood Art. Jo Padfield is an artist based in rural Norfolk - I love the natural world and my work celebrates nature and the natural environment, using bright vibrant colours and bold eye catching shapes and patterns. After studying at Norwich School of Art I went on to study and work in architecture. As my path in design continued, I have developed my love of colour and graphics in print making to create linocut prints. I like the process of cutting fresh lino with sharp tools and the anticipation of peeling paper off an inked...

Horse Art Prints, Giraffe Art Prints and Other Unique Animal Wall Art

Shopping for animal prints to spruce up a nursery, living room, bedroom or some other corner of your home?

Decorating with fine art prints — whether they’re figurative printsabstract prints or another variety — has always been a practical way of bringing a space to life as well as bringing works by an artist you love into your home. And animal prints depict the beauty and power of nature in an elegant way that can complement any room. Interacting with animals has long captured the imagination and has been interpreted in diverse artistic media.

Some of the oldest works of art have included animals, such as a cave painting found in Indonesia dating back more than 45,500 years that shows a wild pig in red ocher pigment. Animals have continued to appear in every era and style of art, from realism to Pop art and everything in between.

Some prints and animal paintings portray animals in their natural habitat, highlighting the majesty of wild creatures roaming the plains, forests and jungles. You might find unique animal prints that feature deer, tigers, wild mustangs, giraffes and other wildlife. Others focus on domestic animals such as dogs — pay a visit to the Museum of the Dog if you don’t believe us — as well as cats and how they interact with the world and their owners.

Picking the right animal painting or animal print for a room — as well as knowing how to arrange your new wall art — can take time. But, in the end, it will tastefully reflect your interests and passions. While an expansive landscape painting helps open up a small space, for example, hanging a horse print in a den shows a love for equine culture and can invite compelling conversation.

For tight corners, select small fine art prints as opposed to the oversized bold piece you’ll hang as a focal point in the dining area. But be careful not to choose something that is too big for your space. And feel free to lean into it if need be — not every work needs picture-hanging hooks. Leaning a larger fine art print against the wall behind a bookcase can add a stylish installation-type dynamic to your living room.

There is animal art to fit every collection on 1stDibs. Explore a wide selection of animal prints in a range of styles to match any home or office.
